3/4 cup of lard
 1 cup of sugar
 1 teaspoon vanilla
 2 1/4 cups flour
 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoons salt
 decorations
 
 Directions:
 
 Cream lard, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.  Beat till light and creamy.  combine flour, baking powder and salt.  Add to creamed mixture, mixing till well blended.  Cover dough and chill for 1 hour.  Preheat oven to 375 F.  Shape dough into 1.5 inch  balls.  Flatten dough to 1 cm with a glass dipped in sugar.  Decorate.  Bake till edges are light brown.
