Macaroni – Hamburger Casserole:
250 ml macaroni
125 ml chopped green pepper
250 ml ground beef
30 ml flour
10 ml salt
1 ml paprika
pepper to taste
175 ml chopped onion
30 ml butter
500ml tomato juice or stewed tomatoes
250 ml grated cheddar cheese
2 ml Worcestershire sauce
1 ml dry mustard
250 ml kernel corn
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Prepare a well greased 2 litre casserole. Cook macaroni in boiling water (salted) until tender. Drain.
Meanwhile, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Add browned beef and brown. Blend in tomato juice or stewed tomatoes, flour and spices. Cook, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. Add cooked macaroni and corn. Pour into prepared casserole. Top with cheese. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
