Beef Stew

Description

Beef Stew:

1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 pounds beef stew meat
2 tbsp shortening
6 cups hot water
3 medium potatoes cut into cubes
1 cup of peas
4 carrots cut
1 green pepper cut
1 cup of chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp salt
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf

 

Mix flour, 1 tsp salt and pepper.  Coat meat with flour mixture.  Melt shortening in large skillet and brown meat.  Add water and heat til boiling.  Reduce heat and cover – simmering for 2 hours.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
